Nowadays, this field provides maximum benefits while providing loads of opportunities to the teachers depending on the field of expertise. They have various levels to pick from like the primary level, secondary level, college level etc. The skill set necessary for each level is different from the other level.
Students in preschool, kindergarten or elementary classes are taught by the primary teachers. Further, every level has its challenges. Primary level teachers face different form of challenges, since they are required to take care of a complete selection of issues which are faced by kids of those classes. They need to take care of them with utmost care as the youngsters might not be in a position to take care of any pressure or an excessive amount of scolding. They have to help children with enough love and care. Technical expertise might not be considered a major reason for concern but the teachers need to have a lot of compassion for the kids.
Secondary teachers are needed to take care of students of secondary or higher grades. They have to occupy specialized subjects. They need to have advanced of expertise whilst the subjects become quite complex in these classes. Various subjects like Mathematics, English, Science, Physics etc are taught in the centre or higher grade classes teach to one. The teachers of those classes need to deal with the fact that the students have a greater degree of maturity than kids of primary classes and have to be handled in a different way; they may need to enforce discipline such students as well.
Kids having various disabilities like those who are handicapped, have unstable mental condition, dyslexia etc need special care. They want dedicated teachers that are experienced enough to take care of them. Such students are categorized beneath the special students category and special teachers are needed to instruct them. Flexibility and adaptability are both most critical skills that are sought from teachers of such kids.
Aside from teaching jobs, there are many other opportunities obtainable in schools as well. These include administrative posts like headmaster, department heads and the other non teaching staff. With regards to the post involved, the responsibility to instruct may or may not be present, although it is advised in order for them to involve some experience of teaching for management of the curriculum and evaluating the teachers against various parameters.
Another quality that’s expected in the principals is that of management of teachers, non teaching staff, everyday expenses, issues of students etc. Further, the various heads of departments must have vast knowledge of the subjects. They need to have leadership ability and management skills too.
